Pallet Repair Technician
Primary Objective:
To repair and sort pallets.
Responsibilities:
Maintain work area cleanliness and safety
Inspect and sort pallets by variety
Repair pallets as needed with air stapler
Replace deck board and stringers to damaged white wood pallets
Install metal plates to split stringers
Clear pallet jams on sort lanes
Maintain level of work productivity as established by management
Assist forking pallets on sort lanes for loading
Load pallets on trailers by variety
Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor
Job Requirements:
Work safely, effectively, and cooperatively with other campus personnel, maintenance dept., and supervisor
Ability to use air stapler
Ability to operate powered industrial trucks
Physical Demands:
Must be able to see
Must be able to lift items of 50 lbs. occasionally and 10-25 lbs. frequently
Must be able to stand, twist, reach, and bend
Occasional walking and stairs
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to speak and read English
On-the-job training provided
Pre-employment background check and work-screen required
Work Environment:
Temperatures seasonal ranging from 50 - 80 F
The Pallet Building has a noisy and busy environment - employees must always remain alert.
Exposure to moving mechanical machines and industrial trucks
