Summary Statement

Golf Course Concession Attendant:

  • Assists in the golf shop and/or café at Warm Springs or Quail Hollow Golf Course.

  • Provides a high level of customer service by recommending products, taking orders, and registering customers for golf play.

  • Interested persons 16 years of age or older are eligible to apply.

  • This position works 19 hours a week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • This position is designated as At-Will.

Essential Functions

Registers customers for tee-times, tournaments, lessons, cashier and other events as they arise. Answers questions related to events and services provided. (50%)

Assists with duties in the golf shop to include stocking shelves, assisting customers, selling products, and providing answers to golf product questions. Ensures shop is clean, free of debris, and safe for customers. (30%)

Assists with set-up of golf range, cart staging, and daily duties of the clubhouse. (10%)

Assists in the cafe by taking orders, serving food and drinks (age 19 and older only), and ensuring facility is clean. (10%)

Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time. Total Percentage = 100%

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

Experience overseeing or playing in golf tournaments, or working in a customer service or retail role.

Working knowledge of golf rules and regulations; golfing products and accessories; general customer service practices.

Ability to interact with customer and participants in a tactful manner; provide a high level of customer service to patrons; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public and other organizations; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training

One year experience working in a golf course pro-shop or related role.

TIP (Alcohol Servers Permit)

Food handler permit

Applicants must be able to pass:

City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation

Working Conditions

Physical Efforts

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds and rarely lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds. Also, the employee is occasionally pushing/pulling up to 35 pounds and rarely pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. The noise level is frequently moderate and rarely loud. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear, smell and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision and distance vision. Employees will sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.

Working Environment

The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions, in wet and humid conditions, areas of dust, odors, mist and gases or other airborne matter. Employees are exposed to mechanical and electrical hazards.

This position works: evenings, weekends, and holidays.

19-Hour Temporary

All temporary part-time employees working less than an average of 19-hours per week are not currently eligible for benefits.

4-Month Temporary

All 4-month temporary employees working an average of 40-hours per week will accrue personal leave which can be used during employment.

8-Month Seasonal

In addition to accruing personal leave, anyone in an 8-month seasonal position working over an average of 30-hours per week is eligible for medical coverage.

9-Month Temporary

In addition to personal leave accrual and medical coverage, a position that is classified as a 9-month temporary is eligible for PERSI retirement benefits.
