The Cigna Group Full Stack Engineer in Bloomfield, Connecticut

The Full Stack Engineer is responsible for the delivery of a business need end-to-end starting from understanding the requirements to deploying the software into production. This role requires you to be fluent in some of the critical technologies with proficiency in others and have a hunger to learn on the job and add value to the business. Critical attributes of being a Full Stack Engineer, among others, is Ownership & Accountability.

In addition to Delivery, the Full Stack Engineer should have an automation first and continuous improvement mindset. They should drive the adoption of CI/CD tools and support the improvement of the tools sets/processes.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current contractor with Cigna Healthcare, Evernorth Health Services, or one of their subsidiaries.

  • 2+ years being part of Agile teams – Scrum or Kanban

  • 6+ years of working in an object-oriented language: C, C++, Python, Java, Scala, or other OO compiled language

  • 2+ years of scripting (JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, etc.)

  • 6+ years of database – SQL; Teradata experience is a Plus

  • 6+ Experience in writing complex ETL logic and Query tuning experience dealing with large volumes of data

  • Experience Big Data and HADOOP (with HIVE and Sqoop)

  • Strong knowledge of UNIX/LINIUX Platforms

  • Knowledge of Cloud computing and ability to setup and work with cloud based instances

  • Experience with Git/SVN

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Fluent in BDD and TDD development methodologies

  • Work in an agile CI/CD environment (Jenkins experience a plus)

  • Knowledge and/or experience with Health care information domains;

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelors in Science/Engineering field. Masters preferred

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 123,400 - 205,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
