Overview This position acts as the primary cashier at USU Blanding, offering diverse customer services and administrative assistance, while ensuring a secure and hospitable front desk experience for visitors. Assists the Director of Student Services with office tasks, travel arrangements, and purchase reconciliations to ensure efficient operations of the Student Services unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service as part of the front desk reception in the Blanding Campus and as needed, communicate with students, parents, staff, and/or faculty via email, phone, and in person.
  • Serve as main cashier for USU Blanding and receipt, process, and document any funds received at the campus per the cash handling policy and procedures.
  • Establishes, maintains, processes, and/or updates files, records, and/or other documents.
  • Perform bank deposits.
  • Maintains accuracy and confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations.
  • Act as a backup for Admissions/Registration office suite-mate.
  • Assists with travel arrangements to include travel authorizations and reimbursements.
  • Assist with purchase reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Order, stock, and distribute office supplies.
  • May assist with planning of student-facing events and programs.
  • May be required to complete Federal and/or State compliance training.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Minimum Qualification:

  • High school diploma/GED or aptitude is required. Preferred Qualification:

  • Associates degree and some experience working in higher education or student affairs.

  • Experience working with various student populations and demographics, handling student matters, and organizing events and programs is also beneficial. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Skilled with computers and related software.

  • Skilled with basic office equipment, including printers, copiers, and telephone systems.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential business data and personal information.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
