Description :

A well-established manufacturer of large construction equipment has an immediate opening for a MIG welder. You will be MIG pulse and stick welding large heavy gauge mechanical components together according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders. Candidates must posses at least 6 months of professional, personal, or class welding experience.

Responsibilities:

• Fuse or weld heavy gauge components together by means MIG pulse or stick welding process

• Perform welding operations requiring a limited amount of planning of work from blueprints or other written specifications and determining operation sequence

• Must be able to weld in vertical, flat, and overhead positions

• Adjust welding equipment to its prescribed settings

• Performs minor welding machine maintenance (i.e. tips, liners, gas cups)

• Uses labor reporting system, routing shop forms, and fills out move tags

Hours :

• 1st Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM & Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM/ Optional overtime on Saturdays 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM

• 2nd Shift : Monday - Thursday 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM

Pay :

• $23 to 28/hour plus a $2 shift differential for 2nd shift

Qualifications :

• 6 months of previous welding experience

• The ability to accurately read a measuring tape

• Must be able to perform visual inspections of welds

• Operate a grinder to remove spatter and profile welds

• The ability to pass on onsite welding assessment
