Defense Health Agency Health System Specialist in Bexar County, Texas

Summary About the Position: This position is located in San Antonio, Texas. This incumbent provides health system expertise on health care programs and policies, advising management on healthcare and business optimization. This position will also provide professional administrative support and expertise to administrators within the Defense Health Network to increase the efficiency, productivity, and quality of care of clinical operations. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Responsibilities Initiates, develops, and implements procedures to monitor the internal capabilities of the Defense Health Network. Implements changes to policies and/or programs based upon evaluation to improve quality, effectiveness, and efficiency. Analyzes administrative and clinical delivery systems to develop strategic focus for management team decisions. Coordinates with data analysts for available data sources to analyze and evaluate health care delivery programs and trends and make appropriate recommendations. Provides technical and administrative oversight for clinical administrators and Service Line Business Directors. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) evaluating medical service delivery to identify improvements; 2) interpreting policies and/or procedures to develop protocols across medical facilities; and (3) advising senior leaders regarding healthcare facility operations and/or optimization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Advanced leave accrual may be authorized. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement.
