Philips Principal Architect IGT Positioning in Best, Netherlands

Join the leading innovator in image-guided therapy solutions as a Principal Architect, to drive the development of the Positioning subusystem of the IGT’s Azurion product family. With our partners, we improve the health of patients and save lives, every day, everywhere!

You are responsible for

T he architecture, design, and implementation of the Patient & Beam Positioning Subsystem of IGTS product families of fixed systems Azurion and Allura. Positioning consists of multiple components involved in positioning of the beam and patient. Positioning has a platform architecture that allows numerous configurations to be developed from a single set of modular building blocks You need to ensure that future product options and features can be realized with acceptable effects for the earlier products.

This includes:

  • Teaming up with marketing and service to understand the value aspects and specific customer needs of Positioning.

  • Contributing to translating the vision and Philips strategy into an accepted (set of) reference architectures, within the full value chain context in partnership with the relevant business units and categories.

  • Partnering with portfolio management to help define content into an integrated portfolio management program across business units and categories.

  • Defining architecture for future patient & beam positioning solutions and the roadmap towards that north star, drive modularization to maximize customer value at minimal costs for Philips.

  • Make decisions on architecture, components and interfaces that optimize the balance between new product introduction and lifecycle management of IGT’s large installed base

  • Driving productivity in R&D efficiency and BOM costs across the organization.

  • Initiating, leading and overseeing the realization of the reference architecture through platform with focus on re-use/leverage, modularization, and productivity. Create an environment with the development teams to manage short-term deliverables while contributing to the realization of strategic, long-term initiatives.

  • Partnering with other Philips businesses and Platform teams to ensure HSRA compliance, and contribute to the definition of the HSRA platform roadmaps

You are a part of

The Image Guided Therapy Systems business unit (IGTS), with development sites in the Netherlands and India. This business unit is responsible for marketing, service, development and manufacturing of solutions and products used in the area of minimally invasive procedures. The customers are hospitals and their medical specialists. As main contributor in the Cardiology pathway and treatment, IGT will own the Cardiology pathway architecture for Philips.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • An MSc/PhD in mechanival engineering or mechatronics and +6 year of experience in a systems architecture role for systems that have a long usage and service life

  • Sufficient knowledge of- and experience with mechanical engineering, mechatronics electrical engineering, software engineering, and reliability engineering to have detailed discussions with design teams

  • Understanding of healthcare products, and relevant experience in applicable standards and regulations.

  • Real passion for and energy from working with cross-site, cross-functional, dynamic teams.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment, negotiate challenges, explain technical considerations and recommend solutions

  • Knows how to balance feature delivery and tech debt amortization while maintaining existing technology and innovation to satisfy business needs

  • Keep abreast of technical developments in own field through study of the literature and technical contacts
