This role is part of Grid Solutions’ Engineering Graduate Program, an Engineering pipeline scheme aiming at providing fast-tracked opportunities in developing young Engineers’ technical know-how, operational skills and leadership capacities.

As a participant of the program, you will be able to gain comprehensive understanding of the technologies and operations of various businesses in GE Grid Solutions, such as High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and Alternating Current Systems (ACS). Over a 12-month period you will be assigned to the Control and Protection department.

Grid Solutions Engineering Graduate Program takes pride in its premium training scheme, where you will get to learn directly from renowned technical experts in the industry. You will also be paired with a senior technical expert in the organization as your mentor over the program period to support the development of your business acumen, leadership insights and personal growth.

Essential Responsibilities:

You will be part of the team in charge of designing the Control system, protection system, Electrical distribution, telecom & monitoring of a High voltage substation.

You will proceed in particular with:

  • Identification and assessment of secondary technical risks

  • Creation of overview circuit diagrams and sample documentation

  • Evaluation of offers specific Protection & Control Technology

  • Parts lists: cabinets/boxes, protection/control equipment, cables, small materials, cost estimation

Qualification:

  • The candidate should ideally have Electrical engineering expertise at graduate level or equivalent experience, but most importantly will have a good level of technical understanding of electrical hardware engineering principles.

  • The candidate should demonstrate an ability to think innovatively and apply engineering knowledge.

  • The candidate should have an enquiring mind and desire to learn new skills, an ability to apply different engineering methods and a willingness to share knowledge are essential qualities.

  • We expect the candidate to have some basic knowledge in circuit/secondary technology of subject-specific projects (conv. Relay technology, control technology, protection, telecommunications, own use) as well as Experience in working with the EDP system Engineering Base / Ruplan EVU module.
