Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelors degree in psychology, social work or related human services field preferred.

Requirements

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Residential, Night Asleep, will provide assistance to the Night Awake personnel whenever needed. Will also provide direct service to individuals, will be familiar with individuals program/plans and may need to participate in the day-to-day operation of the house.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

DIRECT SERVICEWill participate in the following daily living skills as needed: bathing, dressing, toileting, and dining. Assists Night Awake personnel with repositioning, changing, toileting, and medical needs as needed. Complies with regulations, policies, and procedures. Will serve as a positive role model for staff and clients. Performs medication administration as assigned.

PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION/PROGRAM DEVELOPMENTIs familiar with each Individual Service Agreement (ISA). Makes suggestions and recommendations. Serves as an advocate for individual clients. Will offer suggestions on ways to improve services to the Group Home Manager as appropriate. Attends meetings as scheduled.

RECORD-KEEPINGAll staff should have knowledge of how to document important information including, but not limited to, Progress Notes, document on bowel charts, input and output sheets, repositioning charts, and how to fill out incident reports.

HOUSEKEEPINGNo housekeeping duties are assigned to the DSP Night Asleep, but they should help out wherever needed.
