Google Technical Program Manager, Large Language Models, Search Platforms in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience managing data-driven communication with stakeholders via email, written documents, and slides.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with lifecycle management in a fast-paced software environment.

  • Experience implementing task flow across cross-functional teams, in particular in engineering organizations.

  • Ability to use technical judgment to solve software engineering challenges involving bug triage, source control, continuous integration, etc.

  • Excellent influencing skills and ability to lead without formal authority.

  • Firm sense of accountability, ownership for end-to-end project lifecycle.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

Search Platforms sits at the heart of Search, and is responsible for building the foundation that enables rapid innovation in Search, and plays a critical role in our mission of organizing the world's information and making it universally accessible and useful. Seagull is a critical initiative in the search platform that enables large-scale migrations tractable. The goal of Seagull is to automate parts of migrations from the current stack to the new stack, resulting in acceleration for the migration effort using the power of Large Language Models (LLMs).

  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.

  • Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables with minimal assistance, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables.

  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, and/or manage project plans for supported program(s).

  • Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.

  • Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals.
