Shell Software Engineer - ETRM in Bengaluru, India

What’s the role

As a Software Engineer - Endur you will be responsible in complex projects and programs related to Shell's LNG portfolio using Endur, a key ETRM software. The position involves reviewing and mentoring junior technical resources, adhering to industry best practices, and influencing team processes. The role requires working with DevOps methodologies and engaging directly with business units to understand issues, analyze impacts, and design solutions.

This position has the following accountabilities:

  • Capture and document user requirements into specifications, from inputs from subject matter experts and Design Authority.

  • Understanding business requirements, to pilot and prototype new solutions and technologies, including procurement, setup, development, demonstration, and deployment.

  • Support Projects and Support teams in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including Requirements Gathering, Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing, Implementation, and Production support for software systems.

  • Determine and design solutions that are scalable and sustainable for a global business

  • Establish and maintain stakeholder satisfaction levels. Build and develop strong trust relationships with the stakeholders demonstrated through clearly owning, resolving, and communicating issues and problems

  • Contribute/participate in local and global IT community activities

What we need from you

We're excited to connect with candidates who possess the following qualifications and are ready to take on the challenge:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in ETRM projects & implementations with end-to-end trade lifecycle development experience in a project development role

  • Openlink Endur (v14+) development experience

  • Endur JVS/ OC JAVA/.Net coding skills

  • Good knowledge of the Endur data model for transactional and static data

  • Extensive knowledge of Endur’s Simulation Results and JVS Libraries

  • Experienced in handling memory management issues with JVS scripting

  • Experience developing external OpenComponents applications

  • Familiar with Microsoft Azure DevOps tools (such as VSTS and GIT)

  • Experience with software development using JAVA and SQL

  • Familiar with Software Engineering processes (such as Configuration Management, Change Management, Release Management, etc)

  • Intermediate/Expert level of experience in successfully providing application support / development in a corporate setting

  • Experience designing or changing business critical reports/processes to gain full value from technology solutions

  • Must have a good object-oriented development background with understanding and experience of concepts like dependency injection and test-driven-development

  • Must have experience following a structured CI/CD process to ensure standards and processes are uniformly upheld

  • Commodity experience with one or more of the following commodities: Power, Natural Gas, LNG or NGL

Nice to have:

  • Experience with software development using Python, MSFT C# and ASP.Net

  • Crystal Reports development experience

  • Databricks development experience
