Job Description

Oracle Database as a Service (DBaaS) team is responsible for integration of Oracle Databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) so that Oracle Databases can be used by our customers as a cloud service. The DBaaS platform service enables seamless Oracle Database service integration to OCI so that customers can enjoy an easy to use, secure, resilient and cost effective Oracle Databases hosted on OCI.

In this role you will be leading a high performance team that develop and operate platform services for several Oracle Cloud Database offerings. You will work closely with your team to enable team members understand and solve complex problems, ensure quality of output, help prioritize competing tasks for team members based on the business needs and time of delivery, organize team tasks so that deliverables can be tracked based on commitments and deliverable guidelines set by the business. You will interact with multiple teams to elicit requirements and understand the expectations and communicate with team members to help them organize the tasks so that they have the best chance of succeeding in delivering on team commitments. You will lead the team in service operations and monitoring key service performance indicators and be a champion of ushering the necessary changes to current operations processes and practices to offer the best platform service to our partner service teams. You will also continuously communicate and motivate the team to course correct and adapt to change to achieve excellence.

In an ideal candidate we are looking for a person with

• 10+ years of Software Development experience

• Hands on experience developing cloud services using Java, J2EE, Rest APIs, Microservices and Distributed systems

• Familiarity with cloud service architectures and design patterns

• Familiarity with Agile Development Methodology

• Excellent communication skills who can handle multiple tasks at the same time

Career Level - M3

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and grow a team of 10+ high functioning engineers

• Participate in technical reviews to ensure architecture, designs and code are aligned with Oracle quality standards and future product growth trajectories

• Drive Engineering excellence ensuring high quality products that conforms to the business and industry standards

• Effectively collaborate and communicate with partner teams and cross functional stake holders to ensure there is clear understanding of requirements and commitments

• Prioritize and manage project workflows adapting to change, ensuring timely delivery and meeting business objectives

• Mentor and develop team members promoting growth and career development

• Manage Operations of DBaaS platform services across multiple realms
