About the AI Data team

The AI Data team develops services, tools, and platforms that empower developers and scientists to build, train, and evaluate ML models efficiently and securely. We are creating cloud services and tools for all stages of data-centric AI and machine learning, including data ingestion, synthetic data generation, data labeling, data benchmarking, model training, and ML data infrastructure. Our services are utilized by both internal and external customers for processing machine learning data related to Vision, Language, Speech, and other AI capabilities.

About the Role

The role is of a Senior Development Manager in the AI Data org in IDC working on building, delivering and operating a platform for ML Developers to build their models faster, in a more secure and compliant manner. Specifically this role would focus on Data Labelling that helps with Human In the Loop ( HITL) personas.

You will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, if needed through another manager and

1. Drive the roadmap for the Labelling portfolio within AI Data

2. Hire and manage critical talent and grow engineers and managers

3. Work with Product Managers and Customers to develop the product functionality, and prioritize the product development to maximize impact on the customers, and user experience.

4. Collaborate with peer teams and their leadership to drive cross-cutting features, and deliver customer value through the platform.

5. Engage with senior leadership for identifying and addressing risks, resource planning, execute on the vision via timely delivery.

6. Create a roadmap for the teams to deliver on operational excellence for the platform.

7. Grow the team via a set of strategic hires, and build a culture to maximize customer impact and value for the AI Data org and OCI.

Required Qualifications

1. BS or MS degree

2. Managing teams larger than 8 people for the last 4 years

3. Proven ability to work with senior leadership and architects

4. Hands-on experience building and operating services on Cloud

5. Exposure to distributed systems, networking, and security on the cloud

6. Experience in working with Product Management to drive product features and ability to engage with customers to address pain points.

7. Hiring and growing teams

Desired Experience

1. Degree in Computer Science.

2. Hands-on experience on OCI -building and operating services

3. Exposure to ML Engineering would be a big plus

4. Working in cross-geo teams and collaborating across teams within the same leadership org to deliver outcomes

5. Experience in leading cross org efforts in hiring, talent development

Responsibilities

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.
