We are hiring Senior Software Engineer to join our Live DevOps team he re at WBD with a focus on CDN and origin management, who will also implement new solution s , triage issues to resolution and provide dedicated support during product launches and high-profile events.

About the team

The Live DevOps team is responsible for the CDN infrastructure for the WBD brands like CNN, TBS, TNT, Bleacher Report and NCAA , and MAX . This includes managing the live streaming and on demand video origins, integrating and maintaining our video and site infrastructure across multiple CDN partners and supporting our brands as we bring best in class experiences directly to our consumers . Additionally, we also manage the infrastructure for the live channels that feed our direct - to - consumer platforms for both linear and event - based workflows. We leverage automation where possible and collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate across your systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with development teams and technical teams to provide resilient solutions to achieve business goals. Solutions can consist of software and services, commercial software, services and systems as well as open source software.

• Solutions Consultation: collaborate with business unit and third - party service provides for new products or product enhancements that may alter performance and availability of products, services or infrastructure components

• Configuration Management: author, deploy, and maintain system, web site and application configuration management code and configuration

• Perform platform configuration, capacity planning, monitoring, alert configuration and Tier 2 incident response.

• Plan and execute the integration of internet-based products and services in an efficient, secure, scalable, reliable and cost-effective manner.

• Incident Response: Execute day to day maintenance tasks including problem determination and resolution, as well as root-cause analysis and responsibility responding to live site issues

• Automation/Tooling: author, maintain and document custom tools and programs that reduce the number of manual processes necessary for daily operational support

• Product Testing: provides support for integration testing, system testing, and load/performance testing prior to final release of new and upgraded products and services

• Documentation: provide and maintain documentation of systems architecture, troubleshooting and support guidelines, system metrics, project information and plans

• Operational system support of various internet properties including streaming video and site deployment

Require ments

• 5 years of experience providing operational support of internet delivered products

• Content Delivery Network (CDN) platform experience with one or several of these vendors: Akamai, CloudFront, Fastly, Edgio , Lumen, or Google Media CDN

• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS and HTTP

• Intermediate skills in a shell programming language such as: bsh , ksh , zsh , powershell , etc.

• Intermediate skills in one or more common, cross-platform programming languages such as: Python, Ruby, Perl, Java, Go, etc.

• Basic knowledge of web application content and its effects on end-user experience: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Flash, etc.

• Experience troubleshooting web application issues using commonly available tools such as: FireBug , Charles Proxy, Chrome Developer Tools, curl, etc.

• Intermediate skills managing one or more application layer load balancing and caching solutions such as: F5 Big-IP, NetScaler, HAProxy , Varnish, Apache Traffic Server, Memcached, etc.

• Experience configuring, deploying and supporting one or more web server platforms such as: Apache Tomcat, Oracle GlassFish , Apache Geronimo, Red Hat JBoss, nginx, Apache HTTPD Server, IBM WebSphere Application Server, etc.

• Experience configuring, deploying, monitoring, tuning and supporting Java web applications

• Proficient in use of one or more popular centralized or distributed (preferred) source control tools and services such as: Git, Github , Bitbucket, SVN, CVS, etc . and Terraform

• Ability to work with minimal instructions on day-to-day work, able to consume and self-start with general instructions on new assignments. Participates in an inclusive and supportive engineering culture.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $98,910.00 - $183,690.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
