About Team:

Walmart's Payment and Fraud Technology team , known internally as the Transactional Services team, drives customer engagement and revenue growth through world-class secure checkout, payments (30+ tender integrations), Directed Spend, and promotions that is fraud-free. We fulfill this through a global, highly-available , full-stack platform with automated resiliency managed through formal SLAs uniformly applicable to the omni channels wherever possible and commercially reusable. What you'll do when leading the TPM organization:

  • Establish techniques to translate product and business requirements for software (for example, design, architecture, testing) and platform capabilities (cloud infrastructure, pipeline orchestration, database, network); System/platform design concepts/ components and architecture; Emerging tools and technologies ; P roduct/Feature Technical Design; Services, APIs, and technologies within assigned teams/areas.

  • Have awareness of Site Reliability Engineering concepts (observability, monitoring, pre-production checklists, incident management); Cloud computing technologies; Service management concepts and other infrastructural tools.

  • To lead and broker agreement and provide mentorship to your team members to do so, on end-to-end, high-level system /solution design of medium/high-complexity systems through an understanding of end-to-end systems.

  • Establishes processes and guidelines to drive effective project execution including defect management (including defect visibility, defect prioritization, defect resolution, and defect prevention) across a domain. Contributes and assists in reviewing design decisions to ensure engineering, design, and product teams are focused on solutions for customers and business stakeholders. Reviews delivery plans and incorporates detailed understanding of existing and future product use cases as part of delivery plans.

  • Proactively identifies and prevents duplicative efforts, decouples dependencies, and resolves misalignment by leveraging existing solutions, capabilities, and technologies across initiatives. For medium/high-complexity initiatives, translates end outcomes into system/platform/security-level elements across multiple engineering components/teams to ensure business goals are achieved.

  • Mentors team members to understand the component-level view and overarching impacts on end goals. Automates repeatable processes and tasks and implements tools to reduce overhead and increase the velocity of engineering teams. Establishes methods for effective launches, drives technical decisions within initiatives, and mentors team members to assess engineering practices.

  • Understands customer requirements and architectural requirements relevant for all products within a domain in line with customer expectations.

  • Stakeholder identification and engagement; Processes and ways of working across various groups; Relationship management techniques; Techniques to manage conflicting stakeholder priorities and ambiguity; Stakeholder management strategy.

  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent. Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.

  • Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.

What you are responsible for, when fulfilling the Chief of Staff function:

The Chief of Staff, of Transactional Services will be a senior-level partner to the leadership team in driving the strategy and mission of the organization and defining and overseeing the execution of key operational processes. This role reports to the VP of Transactional Services and will act as a strategic advisor to her leadership team, will enable cross-functional collaboration to achieve desired outcomes, and will represent the leader in many situations.

  • Serving as proxy for the leader and be a voice for the leader within the team and across Walmart and serve as a critical partner on initiatives around operational and engineering excellence, people development, and culture.

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive operating structure and rhythm for the team, including Leadership Team meetings, Business and Technology reviews, and strategic planning sessions

  • Building and nurturing collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, to align priorities and gain buy-in for key initiatives and strategies.

  • Playing a key role in crafting and delivering executive-level communications and updates, ensuring the message is aligned with the organization's vision and goals.

  • Providing insight and advice to the leadership team around operational excellence, resource and fiscal planning, participate in overall group strategy decisions and assist in implementing policies and procedures.

  • Orchestrating team design conversations and facilitating successful implementation of organizational plans.

  • Identify risks/ issues that impede team success and collaborate on ways to mitigate without impacting business priorities.

  • Partnering with cross-functional partners, particularly Finance, Portfolio, Strategy & Business Operations, and HR on cross-reaching initiatives and operations.

  • Providing budgeting inputs and oversight to Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Plan (LRP) financial processes

  • Preparing independently clear, concise, logically structured, and meaningful artifacts and communications

  • Taking a leadership role in driving and championing change within the organization, ensuring that change initiatives are successfully implemented and aligned with business objectives.

Bellevue, Washington US-11075:The annual salary range for this position is $192,000.00-$384,000.00

Sunnyvale, California US-04396:The annual salary range for this position is $208,000.00-$416,000.00

Bentonville, Arkansas US-10424:The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00-$320,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
