The Technical Product Manager executesa range of workstreams in product development programs across BT Group, managing the implementation and maximal impact of company product strategies,technical product management, user experience (UX), software engineering, and analysis across multiple product lines.

What you’ll be doing

  • Define and deliver the migration of customers and products from legacy to strategic IT stack​, to target brand, and to target products

  • Define, agree & drive a customer and product migration roadmap that delivers CFU commercial and customer experience objectives

  • Accountable for execution of migration roadmap/plan

  • Technical approach required to radically simplify our portfolio and reduce cost base

  • Define the customer migrations experience​

  • Build the common tooling for migrations and ensure all tooling is fit for purpose

  • Lead a cross functional team including technical product owners, solution architecture, delivery management, migrations design and tooling

  • Influence and align stakeholders across IT, networks, CFU and industry to get buy in for ambitious IT transformation roadmap

  • Accountable for migration experience, approach, roadmap, solution architecture and tooling

  • Negotiate migration strategy with CFU and define technical migration approach, and path to target state (IT/brand/product)

  • Align multiple migration types to optimize the path to end state in terms of customer experience, and capex efficiency, in partnership with CFU

  • Work closely with CFU product team and influences decision making to ensure product simplification portfolio objectives are achieved​

  • Understand desired outcomes and define best technical solution to deliver the requirements and optimise cost–benefit, delivery timescales and whole life costs​

Specific Skills and Experience

  • Deep product knowledge of relevant portfolio of telco products(Home)

  • Comprehensive knowledge of architecture and technologies

  • Experience in telco industry with significant experience of leading major technical product deliveries and ideally product migrations

  • Experience of designing and delivering large scale customer migrations (multi-million customers)

  • Expert understanding of technology (IT and Network) that underpins Telco products

  • Significant understanding of commercial objectives relating to product portfolio
