Fortive Corporation Lean Continuous Improvement Leader in Beaverton, Oregon
JOB OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of Fortive Business System (FBS) Lean tools and processes across Tektronix by conducting sustainable continuous improvement events to support the organizations top priorities. This role will be instrumental in developing the skill base and FBS culture of our associates to carryout policy deployment objectives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Build FBS culture and capacity by proactively developing others to become FBS Champions in a variety of FBS Fundamentals and Lean tools
Partner with Leadership in the development and sustainment of an FBS Lean roadmap (i.e., how to use the FBS tools to drive sustainable improvement in results)
Provide hands-on coaching and support for problem solving
Regularly participate Daily Management reviews and provide feedback to improve the process
Drive improvement that is directly tied to Policy Deployment (PD) by leveraging FBS tools to improve processes
Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and develop on-site associates and leaders in the area of FBS tools such as Standard Work, 5S, Lean Conversion, Transactional Process Improvement, Value Stream Mapping, Variation Reduction, and other FBS Lean Tools to drive organizational change. This also includes helping to plan and facilitate Shingijustsu Kaizens
Ensure successful kaizen events by installing and ensuring compliance to the kaizen process
Directly provide formal and informal FBS training, facilitation and coaching to leaders, champions, and associates
Benchmark and incorporate best practices into processes and work executed at Tektronix
Lead and/or participate in specific improvement projects
Work towards and obtain mastery and certification (FBS Champion) status in specific FBS Lean Tools
Personal Characteristics
Technical excellence: Experience with lean processes (Standard Work, Daily and Visual Management, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping) to be able to consult, facilitate, and guide improvement at Tektronix. Experience in driving the Lean Culture mindset and guiding the organization through the Lean Journey
Ability to build relationships and influence others: Able to mentor, train, and persuade others to act on key initiatives and lean concepts. Must be comfortable operating in environments where the actions are not owned but are driving through the follow-through and sustainment of others
Comfortable with ambiguity: Able to take on ambiguous tasks, chart the course forward, execute and sustain results
Facilitation: Able to facilitate large and small groups in the achievement of a desired outcome. Must be able to handle situations that require strong problem solving to map a path forward when the situation is complex, or the group is stuck and unable to make progress
Teamwork: Able to lead a team(s) from multiple disciplines, as well as functions (when needed) as a member of the team to achieve the desired outcome
Technology Savvy: Comfortable interacting and learning with Microsoft programs such as PowerBI, PowerApps, and PowerAutomate, Sharepoint, Forms, Sway, etc.
Program Management: History of leading large-scale projects and delivering results in specified deadlines. Ability to manage a cross functional project team, adapt to changing project roadblocks with appropriate countermeasures to keep maintain project timeline, and ability to quickly learn a new function of the business that is key to the project
Results orientation: History of delivering results and be able to maintain focus on achieving the results, and a strong desire to grow within the operations organization
JOB REQUIREMENTS
5 years of Lean tools experience; Manufacturing Experience is a plus
BS or BA Degree required
Superior communications skills
Proven track record of Project Management skills and results
Excellent writing and administrative skills
Skilled in the advanced use of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrated proficiency in time management
Travel Requirements: 10%
