This position is a part-time, seasonal position that typically runs between April – October, and work schedules can are any day of the week. This position works late evening/nights of 4-5 hour shifts with an average of 25hrs/week depending on need and weather conditions.
Spray the public streets and City parks of the City of Baytown for adult mosquito population control.
Duties
Controls the mosquito population through application of driving and spraying adulticides using truck mounted ULV equipment.
Assists Mosquito Control Technician with mosquito control truck maintenance, and cleaning of the garage.
Assists Mosquito Control Technician with washing operations on the emptied barrels.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver’s license within 90 days).
Preferred:
Previous experience with safe handling of pesticides.
Knowledge of chemical flow pumps and electric control systems.
Knowledge of the Baytown area.
Certified State of Texas Pesticide Applicator license; category: Vector Control
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Good driving record, mechanical aptitude; knowledge of the safe use of pesticides. Good public communication skills. Ability to get along appropriately with co-workers and the public.
