Overview

We are currently hiring an Emergency Department EMT-P (Paramedic) to join our dynamic team at Bronson. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels in diverse care methods, and possesses strong teamwork, verbal, and written communication skills. Under the supervision of an RN, the EMT-P provides direct patient care in our Trauma & Emergency Center, adhering to approved policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience
  • Completion of an accredited paramedic program
  • Three (3) years' experience as a Paramedic in a pre-hospital setting preferred
  • Current EMT-P (Paramedic) license in the state of Michigan
  • BCLS Certification required
  • ACLS Certification required
  • PALS Certification preferred, required within 1 year of hire
  • PHTLS preferred, maintained or required after hire
  • BTLS preferred, maintained or acquired after hire
  • Previous hospital experience preferred

     

Responsibilities:

  • Implement care as directed by the registered nurse
  • Administer prescribed medication and treatment
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions
  • Maintain patient comfort and safety
  • Initiate patient education plans
  • Perform advanced skills and procedures
  • Maintain clinical competency
  • Participate in ongoing educational activities
  • Provide age-appropriate and culturally sensitive care
  • Foster a supportive work environment
  • Partner with health disciplines to achieve positive patient outcomes
  • Preserve patient autonomy, dignity, and rights
  • Serve as a patient advocate
  • Use research to improve patient care and practice environment
  • Participate in hospital and unit-based committees
  • Attend unit staff meetings
