As the Operations Manager, you oversee the day-to-day operations across all shifts at the PT Caterpillar Indonesia Batam facility. This facility is the sole source of Hydraulic Mining Shovels and plays a crucial role in increasing Caterpillar’s capacity for mining products. Your responsibilities include leading a high-performing team of five hundred (500) employees, including twenty (20) operational leaders.

Work Location: Batam, Kepulauan Riau

You will work both in a manufacturing shop-floor environment.

Domestic relocation is available for this position. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

What You Will Do:

  • Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for operations staff; managing, motivating, and developing management team.

  • Overseeing operations activities, ensuring that safety, and schedules and performance requirements are met, and system resources are used effectively.

  • Driving improvements for overall operations performance and implementing production safety, cost, and quality control mechanisms

  • Ensures the compliance of all regulatory guidelines and forges a safe and sound manufacturing environment.

What Skills You Have:

  • Manufacturing Operations : Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.

  • Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies : Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.

  • Manufacturing Safety : Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.

  • Quality Management : Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

  • Planning and Organizing : Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • The position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher in Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in managing day-to-day manufacturing operations.

  • Professional English capability in reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Reasonable Accommodation):

  • This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.
