Key job responsibilities

As a System Development Manager on the Amazon Smart Vehicles team, you will drive multiple, complex initiatives to ensure the stability, usability and performance of our digital cockpit solutions. You will lead, coach and mentor a heterogenous team of engineers across multiple job families and orchestrate their activities to deliver best-in-class solutions to our OEM partners. You will work with senior leaders across Amazon and interface with external OEM partners as you dive deep to address hard technical, release and integration challenges. You will drive the development of tools, frameworks and best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team and will also drive the team’s vision, roadmap and goals.

About the team

Alexa Automotive's vision is to create safe, voice-first and multi-modal experiences to drivers and passengers in vehicles. With Alexa in the vehicle, customers can use their voice to play music, control in-cabin comfort features like AC/heater, control smart home devices, and access tens of thousands of skills built by third-party developers – all while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in handling performance and stability of automotive, consumer electronics, or similar platforms.

• Familiarity with source code management and build/release engineering tools and practices for multi-site engineering teams.

• A strong advocate and practitioner of best practices for maintaining code quality, code coverage and analysis and code metrics.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, people manager with experience in performance management, coaching, and mentoring.

• Possesses excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done

• A passion for data-driven decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in building partnership’s across different product organizations

• Experienced in delivering on Multi-Year Product road maps

• Experience in non-technical aspects including idea generation, business analysis, and process optimization
