Position Title: Jira Administrator & Analyst

Position Description: Summary

The Jira Administrator/Analyst is responsible for implementing and managing Jira front-end configurations, updates, maintenance, integrations, deployments, add-ons and tools build-out, and general support. The Jira Administrator/Analyst will configure the Jira environment in alignment with agile best practices and encourage the proper usage of the tool through training and reporting. This position will also analyze the current usage of Jira and facilitate the governance of the application with the Director of Agile Transformation including user management and license enleanment strategy, standardized configurations, and more.

Position Description: Responsibilities

Assess current usage of Jira and identify opportunities for simplification and consolidation

Design, build, and implement standardized Jira configurations for company-managed projects in Jira Software Cloud

Maintain Jira projects and associated schema including issue types, field configurations, workflows, permissions, and more

Establish and maintain development/test environments including production data refreshes

Thoroughly test new versions and add-ons within Jira prior to production implementations

Establish and maintain integrations with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, Planview, PowerBI, and Miro

Implement custom boards, filters, dashboards, advanced roadmaps, and more scrum masters and agile program managers and RTEs

Identify and implement opportunities for automation

Develop and conduct training sessions for new and existing employees on the various functionalities available within Jira

Create training and standard operating procedure documentation

Support end users with technical issues through troubleshooting and solution identification and implementation

Supports agile tool (Jira) adoption and consistent utilization

Leverage agile tooling (Jira) to drive team performance including active use of burndown charts, velocity charts, cycle time, and cumulative flow

Construct and maintain Confluence pages with integrated Jira projects

Required Technical Skills

Strong experience with Jira Software Cloud administration including schema configuration development in a scaled agile environment

Strong experience with Confluence and integrating Jira projects/widgets

Strong understanding of Jira APIs, REST APIs, and webhooks

Experience integrating Jira with Planview, ServiceNow, PowerBI and other enterprise applications

Ability to write custom JQL filters and leverage them to construct custom dashboards, special fields, and more

Understanding of and experience with agile and the scrum framework and lean/kanban systems

Knowledge of the software development life cycle

Knowledge of Okta SSO

Experience migrating and consolidating Jira instances both on prem and cloud

Required People & Leadership Skills

Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong command of the English language

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills with the ability to identify foundational issues, develop recommendations, and review with leadership

A go-getter, self-starter, and self-organizing mindset with the ability to self-manage their workload

Strong training skills for new and existing users in Jira with an ability to convey the value of out-of-the-box functionality to scrum masters, product owners, and agile team members

Education & Experience Level:

5+ year’s technology experience, with at least 4+ year’s direct experience in agile delivery

4+ years working as a dedicated Jira/Atlassian administrator

3+ years managing Jira integrations

Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) certification

Bachelor’s degree in technology preferred

Scaled Agile / SAFe knowledge preferred

Jira Align and ServiceNow experience preferred

Atlassian Analytics experience preferred
