Johns Hopkins University Research Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

The department of Bayview Geriatric Psychiatry is seeking a Research Program Coordinator (RPC) to coordinate assigned clinical trials, enrolled participants, and administratively manage protocol implementation.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain good working knowledge of all assigned protocols, including inclusion and exclusion criteria for study participation, visit timelines, and required data collection points per protocol.

  • Adhere to all protocol requirements to ensure the validity of the clinical research data.

  • Prepare and submits annual renewal requests, protocol amendments, and adverse event reports to institutional entities and sponsors.

  • Maintain regulatory binders for each assigned protocol.

  • Sustain good communication with study sponsors, regulatory contacts, and clinical monitors.

  • Administer phone screens and assists with recruitment efforts as delegated by study team leaders.

  • Verify patient eligibility for studies by comparing patient history and clinical laboratory results with protocol requirements.

  • Coordinate and schedule patient screening and follow up visits as specified per protocol.

  • Accompany participants to off campus MRI and PET scan appointments when necessary.

  • Administer cognitive testing and questionnaires for research subjects according to protocol specifications.

  • Maintain research charts for each patient.

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data entry into protocol specific databases and responds to and corrects data queries raised by sponsors or study team leadership.

  • Maintain recruitment databases and spreadsheets for tracking patient visits and recruitment efforts.

  • Respond in a timely manner to special projects or queries related to each protocol.

  • Prepare for and participates in monitoring and audits of studies.

  • Correct errors in database when necessary.

  • Responsible for biospecimen processing and shipping per study protocol.

  • Meet regularly with study team leadership to review data accuracy and overall study progress.

  • Participate in all mandatory meetings to develop increasing knowledge of assigned clinical trial requirements.

  • Participate in outreach, advertising, and recruitment efforts for the clinical trials research group at Johns Hopkins Bayview campus.

  • Ability to learn new database and software applications is required.

  • Excellent organizational skills required.

  • Excellent attention to detail skills required.

  • Ability to follow multiple, detailed directions of various protocols.

  • Must have excellent time management skills.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability and licensure to operate a motor vehicle.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline required. Some related experience required.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

  • Proficiency in PC operations and software application such as MS Windows, Excel, Word, and Access.

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY ($47,840 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
