Job Summary
Reviews and evaluates Public Water Systems (PWS) data related to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) financial, managerial, and technical viability and emergency preparedness
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Review and evaluate a water systems capacity for financial, managerial, and technical development and resiliency and track database for status report maintenance.
Provide related assistance to city and county officials; water system owners, operators, engineers, and lawyers; agency staff; other governmental entities and the general public.
Review data submitted by PWSs.
Assist systems with emergent issues and determine/initiate appropriate follow-up.
Work with the team to create/review/revise documents such as, but not limited to, reports, correspondence, and standard operating procedures.
Perform other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year experience in data analysis, environmental quality management, public utilities, business administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with databases and reviewing technical documents.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel; and PC’s. Knowledge of database entry; ability to learn TCEQ 30 TAC Chapter 290 rules and TCEQ’s programs.
Skill in organization, attention to detail, and working independently once trained.
Ability to communicate verbally with clients, customers, and coworkers to gather information and/or explain policies and procedures.
Skill in technical writing.
Other Requirements
Working Conditions
Standard office environment. Job activities include but not limited to sitting, standing, lifting, and carrying batches of paper up to 10 lbs.
Infrequent travel (i.e., annually) for activities such as job skills training or participating in institutional and client meetings and conferences.
