Job Summary

  • The position will be responsible for supporting geopolitical analysis, developing scenarios and options, and identifying related risks and opportunities for the company. The role cultivates positive relationships with government officials, fostering core business protection and technological growth while aligning with long-term goals. The role applies advanced subject matter expertise to shape internal strategies and influence public policy.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees comprehensive analyses of geopolitical issues, legislative and regulatory proposals, and assessment of potential impacts on the organization and industry.

  • Maintains and builds positive relationships with government officials, staff, and agencies to protect core business, encourage technology growth, anticipate geopolitical trends, and advance organization's values.

  • Participates in development and execution of government affairs strategy that aligns with the organization's long-term goals and objectives.

  • Becomes a strategic partner to advise the business units and global functions on policy trends, contributing to shape the internal strategy and decision-making.

  • Monitors changing legislation and consults with subject-matter experts to determine and advance organization's position.

  • Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced stakeholders on special issues and policy agendas.

  • Anticipates shifts in political landscapes and proactively recommend adaptive strategies.

  • Participates in influencing public policy by executing sophisticated advocacy campaigns.

  • Applies advanced subject matter knowledge, leads, and contributes to complex projects, and exercises independent judgment in resolving business issues and establishing policies.

  • Supports provision of mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Law, Public Policy, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in international affairs, intelligence, strategy, public policy, or a related field.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience with geopolitical analysis and strategy.

  • Comfortable providing advice and counsel to senior management in a fast-paced and distributed environment.

  • Outstanding organizational abilities including the capacity to collaborate with regional teams and manage several different workstreams at one time.

  • Expertise in Indo-Pacific affairs.

  • Intellectual curiosity, flexibility to learn and manage new issues.

  • Fluency in English, East Asian language an asset.
