Tanknology Electronic Design Project Engineer in Austin, Texas

We are currently seeking an Electronic Design/Project Engineer to join our Engineering Department. The ideal candidate is a multi-talented engineer to work all aspects of the design, fabrication, assembly, calibration, and maintenance of environmental testing equipment.

Please be aware that this is an on site job role at our offices, located near Mopac and Braker by the Domain.

Primary Responsibilities will be :

  • Design and support leak detection methods for storage tank systems

  • Manage production of new equipment, working with vendors and fabricators as necessary

  • Redesign or upgrade some existing lines of equipment from older technologies to more current technologies. For example, replace through-hole PCB's with surface-mount, and upgrade software applications to current operating systems and/or mobile platforms.

  • Implement and manage calibration processes for equipment (working with bench technicians)

  • Evaluate failure rates of high maintenance parts and develop solutions or replacement parts.

  • Work with consultants, contractors, engineers, machine shops, fabricators, software developers.

  • Work in a small shop under the direction of the VP of Engineering.

    We are looking for someone who has:

  • BSEE or similar degree with applicable skills and experience

  • Experience with PCB Design & Layout, Firmware and App Development.

  • Experience with data acquisition systems (pressure/vacuum, level, temperature, acoustic/ultrasonic, video).

  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems and AC/DC circuits.

  • Experience with hazardous location equipment and designs (intrinsic safety, explosion-proof, purged/inerted).

  • Experience with UL/ATEX or other safety certification processes.

  • Experience with intellectual property and patent applications
