MaineGeneral Health Patient Scheduling Representative - Interventional Scheduler - Per Diem in Augusta, Maine

Job Description Summary: As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for a variety of patient-related activities, ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the Imaging Department. Your primary duties will include:

Job Description:

  • Patient Scheduling: Managing all scheduling activities associated with patient treatments, including new patient consults, follow-up appointments, and ancillary tests, with a keen focus on timeliness and accuracy.

  • Emergent Scheduling: Responding promptly to emergent scheduling requests by liaising with providers, patients, and relevant departments to accommodate urgent needs.

  • Customer Service Excellence: Providing friendly, empathetic, and professional customer service to all patients, creating a positive and supportive experience throughout their journey.

  • Collaborative Support: Working closely with the clinical team to provide necessary support tailored to the department's needs, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care.

  • Insurance Authorization: Updating/entering insurance authorizations as required, contributing to the financial integrity of the department.

  • Imaging Record Requests: Responsible for all imaging record requests, ensuring timely and accurate retrieval and dissemination of patient records.

    Qualifications:

  • Experience: Preferably, two or more years of related work experience in a medical office setting, demonstrating familiarity with patient scheduling processes, medical terminology, and office workflows.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, enabling effective communication and documentation of scheduling activities.

  • Key Competencies: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are essential for success in this role. Effective time management and problem-solving abilities are also critical, along with the capacity to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

  • Communication Skills: Confident and articulate oral and written communication skills are necessary for engaging with patients, providers, and colleagues effectively.

  • Insurance Knowledge: A basic understanding of insurance processes and authorizations is preferred, enhancing your ability to navigate patient billing and reimbursement procedures.
