Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a driven and motivated individual to join our team as a Transportation Design Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia. The selected candidate(s) will support our growing local and national practice and work directly with industry-leading transportation planners, designers, and engineers. Preferred candidates will have a passion for infrastructure design with a background in civil engineering. Candidates must be willing to travel and ideally have a valid driver’s license.

Stantec’s local Roadway Design Team is involved in the design of a wide variety of transportation projects such as municipal, interstate widening, arterial widening, intersection improvements, roundabouts, complete streets, and bicycle / pedestrian projects. These projects will offer you the opportunity to experience a broad range of professional experience. Technical experience with MicroStation or OpenRoads is preferred. Above all, the successful candidate will be organized, highly self-motivated and curious, have a friendly, professional demeanor, and be able to multitask, ask questions, and learn from feedback.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Gather project data.

  • Support the production of drawings and specifications to ensure technical accuracy.

  • Assist with CAD drafting and design.

  • Assist with developing 3D models to be used for project plans and drawings.

  • Observe and attend meetings with design team and other project stakeholders.

  • Prepare project quantities and opinions of probable construction costs.

  • Other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Self-motivated and highly organized

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Comprehensive approach to challenges and problem-solving

  • Adaptive to new software programs and web platforms

  • Strong research skills and open to feedback

  • Experience with Bentley MicroStation and/or OpenRoads software is preferred

  • GDOT and/or Georgia municipality experience is a plus

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or similar accredited engineering degree. Transportation design course work is preferred.

  • 0-3 years of Engineering Experience

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
