Amazon Sr. Partner Solutions Architect - OpenSearch in Atlanta, Georgia

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is leading the next paradigm shift in computing and is looking for a world class candidate for the role of Sr. Solutions Architect – OpenSearch to anchor the Data and AI partner practice in our Industry & Partner Solutions Center of Excellence.

Ideal candidates are those who have practical working experience with AWS OpenSearch. Experience would include building and operating search and analytics applications, data ingestion, indexing strategies, search relevance tuning, and OpenSearch Service or OpenSearch Server administration. Candidates should have a deep understanding of distributed search and analytics architectures, cluster management, performance optimization, and integrating OpenSearch with other AWS services and data sources. Expertise in query design, data modeling, and leveraging OpenSearch for log analytics, application monitoring, security analytics, and business intelligence use cases is highly desired.

In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right as well as effective in shaping the customer and partner solutions. You will enjoy learning and introducing new technologies to a global team in order to help colleagues, customers and partners embrace and adopt AWS OpenSearch best practices. You will be adept at interacting, communicating, and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our service teams, marketing, the broader Solutions Architect community, as well as representing our data analytics work to executive management.

As the right candidate, you will possess technical skills in software architecture, distributed search/analytics architecture, software deployment and cloud computing as well as customer facing skills at all levels of a partner organization. You should also be able to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. You are a thought leader, and have a hands-on approach that partners are eager to engage with. The ideal candidate can learn new concepts and technologies in a yet-to-be-defined space, is able to communicate effectively with a diverse set of customers or partners across multiple disciplines, and is able to work effectively across internal and external organizations and remote teams.

Key job responsibilities

• Partners' trusted advisor: collaborate with AWS account, training, and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS OpenSearch for search, analytics, data governance, and security.

• Drive partners' success by collaborating across AWS teams on building and migrating OpenSearch solutions

• Business partner: serve as a key member of the business development and partner management team in helping to ensure partner and customer success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform

• Stays closely connected to product teams and works closely with partners to launch with new capabilities as services are launched and features are updated

• Public engagement: provide thought leadership on security solutions through external publications such as the AWS Blogs, Whitepapers and Reference architectures, and public presentations at AWS Summits, AWS re:Invent, AWS User Groups or industry events

• Community player: capture and share best-practices, participate, and contribute as a member of the worldwide AWS technical community of Solutions Architects, Professional Services Consultants, Technical Account Managers, and AWS Trainers

• Evangelize a partner’s value proposition internally throughout AWS and externally with customers

• Driving partner solutions, AWS Partner Network (APN) program attainment, continuous enablement through training, certifications, and go-to-market strategies for differentiation and expansion of their footprint

• Working alongside the AWS Partner Development Manager (PDM) and AWS Partner Solutions Architects for the strategic partner to develop extensive executive and senior management relationships within partner organizations

• Provide the architectural guidance and recommendations necessary to promote successful engagements with software and solutions partners worldwide

• Serve as a key member of the extended AWS Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner team helping to define and deliver the overall go-to-market strategy for the segment

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience

  • Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs

  • Experience working with end user or developer communities

  • Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
