Job Purpose and Impact

As a Senior System Administrator at Cargill you will work across the full set of data platform technologies spanning on-prem and SAS solutions empowering highly performant modern data centric solutions. Your work will play a critical role in enabling analytical insights and process efficiencies for Cargill’s diverse and complex business environments. You will work in a small team that shares your passion for building, configuring, and supporting platforms while sharing, learning and growing together. You will act as a mentor to more junior team members sharing your experiences with technology and customer support.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and recommend improvements to advanced and complex application support processes and procedures.

• Review, analyze and prioritize incoming incident tickets and user requests.

• Review and performs the programming, configuration, testing and deployment of fixes or updates for application version releases.

• Implement security processes to protect data integrity and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Keep an open channel of communication with users and respond to advanced and complex application support requests and needs.

• Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

• Minimum of four years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Multiple years of experience with cloud provider technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google

• Patching / version upgrades of platform technologies

• Implementation of user access management strategies

• Production support of large scale systems

• Extensive experience with administration of on-prem and SaaS solutions such as Snowflake, Hadoop, Tableau, Kafka, or Power BI

• Senior level programming knowledge in languages such as SQL, Python, R, Java, or equivalent

• In depth knowledge of security and networking concepts

• Experience in working in a devops model including implementing best practices for code management as well as solid understanding of continuous integration and deployment strategies

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Ability to bring a systems thinking / systems mindset to problem solving

• Passionate about quality with an owner’s mindset

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, group and culture

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and work in agile ways
