Home Depot Exterior Pro Project Specialist - Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Purpose:

The Exterior Pro Project Specialist (PPS) is responsible for assisting customers with the sales process for complex projects. This includes product selection, necessary measurements, building take offs from construction plans/designs, coordinating with outside sales for transactions, and any necessary post-sale support. The PPS will support Customers, Account Managers and Outside Sales Representatives for Product Selection, leveraging product offerings in the vendor direct, FDC and DFC network as our primary assortment. They need to understand the Customer's project budget and environment needs to make the correct product recommendations. The PPS will also coordinate with relevant Merchants to find solutions to customers' needs that cannot be met with local assortment. The PPS may also coordinate with central support resources such as Takeoff team to obtain technical information and complete designs. The PPS will focus on exterior categories including lumber, steel studs, building materials, and roofing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 50% - Customer Meetings and Quoting - Assist with the quoting process upon Outside Sales team request. Coordinate with takeoff team, complex quoting, and merchandising to build specific quotes for customers seeking Flooring, Kitchen/Bath or Millwork. Coordinate with the Merchandising team to find solutions to the customers' product needs, including Special Order, Custom Quotes, and Direct from Supplier solutions.

  • 25% - Product Selection - Interface directly with customers on product selection, measurements, and post-sale support. Coordinate project meetings to communicate progress, updates, and key milestones to Pro stakeholders and cross-functional partners

  • 25% - Sales Support - Support resource for all Outside Sales Teams for Product Knowledge, Supplier Engagement, and Post Sale Support across complex categories within lumber and building materials.

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Working Conditions:

  • Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes that cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED

  • 4+ years of professional work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Construction/home improvement industry experience.

  • Prior experience managing residential home improvement install projects.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
