Job Description:
The Business Continuity Technical Planning Consultant provides technical consulting and coordination of corporate vendor information security and business continuity testing services to internal clients. Demonstrates a high level of technical proficiency necessary to recommend and implement required solutions and/or execute processes that protect the bank's assets. Participates or leads technical business continuity and vendor initiatives to support ongoing process activities (information security/business continuity vendor assessments, mainframe and/or midrange application and technical infrastructure recovery testing, internal and external vendor testing, event management and progress reporting/measurement). May provide technology based business continuity, information security or vendor subject matter consulting support in audit and regulatory matters as needed. Must be able to work under close or minimal supervision with guidance from manager or team lead as necessary.
The Business Continuity Technical Planning Consultant is responsible for supporting Business Continuity Program (BCP) planning deliverables related to Complex Recovery Reviews and Application Recovery Level Agreement (ARLA), Processes across several 9 Front Line Business Units, 9 Technology CIOs, and the Application Production Support teams within lobal Tech (GT). These reviews validate Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives will adequately support business requirements during an outage. These reviews are aligned with the following processes: Technical Profile Information (TPI), Technical Recovery Plans, Application Dependency Mapping Certification, Recovery Time Objective/Recovery Point Objective Assessments, and Material Technology Resiliency Change Processes.
Job Duties:
Drive the annual effort to improve recoverability and resiliency through thematic analysis and qualitative and quantitative reporting
Track compliance and remediation strategies for any applications that are out of compliance
Communicates, influences, and negotiates both vertically and horizontally to leverage necessary resources to complete deliverables on time
Accountable for monthly processes including preparing senior executive risk presentations
Accountable for weekly processes of notification and escalation of upcoming and past due work
Handles ad-hoc requests to direct internal customers to packaged reporting
Support technology teams in supporting firm-wide risk programs (i.e., delivering requested artifacts, verify completeness / accuracy)
Understand and assist in the Technology Disaster Recovery process and procedures
Understand key systems including CPT (Continuity Planning Tool), Alphabet (btConverge) etc., Tableau dashboards and metrics
Coordinate with Technology Management in monitoring the execution, collection, and completion of Audit control activities
Partner with Technology Management in the execution of quality assurance programs – ensure completeness of data and identify and monitor required remediation activities
Required Qualifications:
5+ years experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and testing environment with specific focus on Recovery Time Objective assessments
Strong in Microsoft Office suite skills, particularly with Excel – ability to code - and PowerPoint; able to put together reports/decks, SharePoint, Access, and Visio
Ability to learn quickly, including learning systems, and produce results
Ability to lead projects to completion with minimal management oversight.
Experience in coordinating with different stakeholders to drive Business continuity and Disaster Recovery drills
