Would you like to help the Worldwide Public Sector business at AWS more effectively support the Solutions Architecture (SA) team?

As a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst on the Public Sector Technical Operations team, you will be responsible for the process of turning data into actionable information. As a BI Analyst you will be a major contributor on the Public Sector SA team with the mission to get business insights into the hands of our business leaders so that they can make data-driven decisions to guide the business. You will be responsible for working closely with leadership to ensure reports are relevant and helpful, defining and delivering on reporting timelines, and training audiences on how to use our data tools. You will think strategically, act effectively, write effectively, and display strong analytical and critical thinking skills. You will build strong cross-group working relationships and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities of the team include, but are not limited to:

  • Be a key contributor to all aspects of Public Sector SA reporting and analysis ensuring timeliness, completeness and accuracy of reporting

  • Work closely with our Global Business Operations and other Business Intelligence teams to make sure we are aligned to company standards and methodologies in all things data reporting

  • Be a subject matter expert on BI best practices including understanding the relevant AWS and 3rd-party tools that are available.

  • Identify current reporting gaps and create road maps to bridge those gaps.

  • Help Public Sector SA team balance short term tactical goals with long term strategies

Key job responsibilities

  • Enable SA leaders for success by proactively providing them business insights to manage their book of business;

  • Partner with other support teams (e.g., TA, HR, Enablement, Sales Operations) to deliver cross-functional, best-in-class support to SA leaders;

  • Design, build, and operate a framework to measure and evaluate SA effectiveness and impact;

  • Work closely with other operations and business intelligence teams across SMGS to make sure we are aligned to company standards and methodologies in all aspects of data reporting;

  • Be a subject matter expert on BI best practices including understanding the relevant AWS services, 3rd-party tools, and programming languages that are available (e.g., Redshift, Tableau, SQL).

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)

  • Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree

  • Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design

  • Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis
