Clinical Operations Manager

Job Description

Purpose & Scope:

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Nursing Operations, this position will coordinate the functions of, and provide advanced clerical and operational support to departments as assigned. Develops, researches, participates in, and leads projects to meet the needs of the department. Can operate advanced computer applications to support the varied work responsibilities within the assigned departments. Utilizes critical thinking and innovation to complete required work.

The manager is responsible for ensuring the department’s goals are in alignment with that of the organization. The responsibility includes assisting in the development of patient care services goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies and procedures; coordinating staff scheduling and patient placement along with various activities with other departments; evaluating proposed procedural changes as they relate to patient care or regulations, supervises the implementation, and ensures compliance to promote optimum health care delivery and departmental staffing.

Responsible for overseeing scheduling and time keeping operations in specific clinical areas; participates in the development of scheduling policies and procedures, schedule preparation, inputting and exporting data from the scheduling system. Responsible for operations around bed placement and supervises clinical operation coordinators. Responsible for collecting, organizing, and presenting data pertinent to the position.

Collaborates with Patient Care Services and with other Divisions such as, but not limited to, Finance, IT, and Material Management. Directs and manages a multi-disciplinary team in the development of plans, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for completion of a project related to implementing change and improvement projects. Provides overall project coordination and implementation of project and measurement of project outcomes.

Maintains a broad knowledge of new technologies and best practices.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

Master's degree in a related field is preferred.

Experience:

Three (3) years experience in Healthcare, with at least one (1) year experience as a supervisor is required.

Three (3) years experience in organizational development, system analysis, information technology, finance/budgetary processes, regulatory compliance and strategic planning is preferred.

None required
