The Clinical Research Imaging Center (CIRC) at the University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a highly skilled and motivated MRI Technologist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting cutting-edge research initiatives and collaborating with researchers from various disciplines to advance medical imaging technologies. As part of our brand-new center, you will have the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of innovative MR imaging practices, applying and developing novel imaging techniques. This research-focused position offers a stimulating work environment without the demands of on-call shifts, allowing you to concentrate fully on groundbreaking research..MRI Operation and Imaging:Operate MRI equipment to capture high-quality images specifically for research purposes.Ensure meticulous attention to imaging detail and documentation, and verify that imaging protocols are accurately followed and optimized for research requirements.Work closely with researchers and other healthcare professionals to develop and refine imaging protocols tailored to various research studies.Provide technical expertise to support innovative research projects.Safety and Compliance:Ensure strict adherence to MRI safety standards and regulations.Stay up-to-date on implant safety and evolving medical technologies.Conduct thorough screening of research participants for MRI appropriateness, including reviewing contraindications such as implants or metallic devices.Discuss findings with the support staff and researchers as applicable.If modification of an MRI protocol is necessary, consult with research team to determine appropriate sequences, parameters, etc., and document changes as appropriate.Quality Control and Maintenance:Perform regular quality control checks and routine maintenance on MRI equipment.Document and report any technical issues to the service engineer and collaborate with the team to ensure equipment is functioning optimally.Protocol Development and Implementation:Assist in the development, testing, and implementation of new imaging techniques and protocols. This includes contributing to the adaptation of standard MRI procedures for specific research applications.Continuous Improvement:Stay updated with advancements in MRI technology and best practices and implement innovations to enhance service quality.Participate in annual safety trainings and other training programs as needed and work with the center manager to regularly update the SOPs based on the new guidelines and technologies.Data Management:Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of imaging procedures, research data, and patient/participant information.Ensure all data is stored securely and is easily retrievable for analysis and reporting..Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).Minimum of two (2) years of MRI experience, preferably with Siemens.Expert understanding of MRI safety and best practices..Advanced IV access skills.
