To provide advanced animal husbandry and veterniarian support for the humane care and treatment of all research animals in the central UT Arlington Animal Care Facility and remote satellite facilities..Perform animal husbandry and janitorial duties in the animal facility as assigned.Assist veterinarian and facility manager in evaluating and maintain the health of animals and relevant health records.Provide assistance in surgical and diagnostic procedures on animals.Assist facility manager in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment, and in preparation of reports and cost analysis.Complete additional duties as assigned by the facility manager..High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the care of animals in a laboratory facility..Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or equivalent.Certification as a Laboratory Animal Technologist by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science.
