JOB SUMMARY

The Development & Retention Manager is responsible for training, development, and retention for new hires entering the Company and continuing education of hourly and exempt personnel. The Development & Retention Manager has a direct report of a training supervisor and twenty direct & indirect hourly trainers across the organization. The Development & Retention Manager will develop and implement annual learning plans for ongoing training needs, and work with department managers to identify specific training gaps. Training and development directly impact retention of team members at the facility, therefor the Development & Retention Manager must be innovative and creative in the role for process improvement and be a representative of the Creekstone Proud culture.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee and manage the company training system, Alchemy. Review current learning plans and evaluate necessary changes. Review Alchemy capabilities and fully utilize the system.
  • Manage new hire orientation and floor trainers, including all on-boarding programs. Implement knife sharpening, stretching, and improve current development and retention programs.
  • Create annual plant training, working with department managers to find a solution to training needs without adverse impact to operations.
  • Review management and soft skill training needs. Create leadership plans and execute programs for continuous development.
  • Develop secession plans to retain content area knowledge.
  • Oversee and manage company intern program and trainee program.
  • Set retention, training, and turnover goals with tactical execution for achievement.
  • Work daily with operations on support needs.
  • Audit and ensure compliance in requirement training: harassment, EEO, safety, etc.
  • Work directly with Environmental, Health and Safety Department on training needs throughout the facility.
  • Develop and promote positive working relationships with all Team Members, Supervisors & Management.
  • Must understand and have a Creekstone Proud mindset to positively enhance the company culture.
  • All other duties as assigned.
