Sr. Manager of Merchandising and RiskSr. Manager of Merchandising and Risk is responsible for contributing to growth within our Merchandising business unit. This position is a leadership position that oversees direct reports with significant P&L implications.The leadership role works cross functionally within the Purina Animal Nutrition business unit.This role requires a strong knowledge of markets, a vast customer network, negotiation skills and ability to think quickly and react to an ever-changing environment. This individual must have a strong working knowledge of both futures and flat price markets and be able to teach and mentor others in the group. Must have an extensive knowledge of Supply and Demand fundamentals and understand the impact on market dynamics and risk that each pose to the business.Required Experience/Knowledge/Skills:Must have 10 years of commodity trading management experience in Soybean processing or related fieldExperience leading and developing a teamBachelor's degree in business or finance or relatedPossess a vast knowledge of Supply & Demand Fundamentals both domestic and globallyAn understanding of animal nutrition and the relative values of commodities.Proven experience to lead a team in a fast paced ever changing environmentPreferred Requirements:Proven critical thinking skills and ability to drive strategy forward.Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills and relationship building capability.Demonstrated aptitude in accounting and financial practices and procedures.Highly skilled in problem solving techniques.Demonstrated understanding of grain markets, hedging, commodity flows and logistics.Knowledge of the agricultural industry's trading standards and procedures.Ability to travel, as needed.Competencies-Skills (Required):Evaluate and advise strategy for the trading businessComprehension of short and long-range fundamentals of a product(s) marketplace is central to the roles value in the Business Unit.Arbitrage the position for optimal execution.Expected to problem solve in midst of execution and day to day execution issues.Develop and maintain the extensive and varied business relationships in the marketplace.Provide customers with accurate market information and answers to questions about their business transactions, such as settlements.Build effective, on-going interaction with both current and potential customers.Act as a front-line negotiator for handling trading conflicts.Responsible for customer experience to ensure Land O'Lakes delivers a favorable customer experience (supplier, end user, carrier).Manage the P&L for the assigned business or subset of the business.Coach/mentor other Merchandisers on the team and give Merchandiser Assistants daily direction.Create/drive collaboration within the division and company.The salary range for this role is $135,360.00 - $203,040.00, as a full-time employee, you will receive a wide range of benefits for you and your dependents:About Land O'Lakes, Inc.Join us and be part of a Fortune 250, farmer- and member-owned cooperative that is reimagining the business of food.
