About the role: Boston Scientific is seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Senior Manager to lead our Cloud, Data Center, Active Directory, Virtualization, Hosting, and Database Platform Services teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing geographically diverse teams, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. As the IT Senior Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of all disciplines to meet the needs of our customers and support business growth. You will play a key role in defining the strategic and tactical direction for these functions and overseeing their ongoing operations. This position requires focus, experience, and knowledge of technical operations and people management, particularly in fast-paced environments. Key areas of focus include IT data center operations and cloud adoption and evolution. You will collaborate with key vendors and business partners to support existing operations and plan strategically to ensure technology operations can support dynamic business initiatives and a robust application and infrastructure portfolio. You will help create and support annual budgets and multiyear strategic roadmaps. This high-visibility role includes 24x7 management responsibilities within a team of peers with similar duties. Your responsibilities will include: Establish and maintain a strategic IT solution vision, technology roadmaps, and principles for our Cloud, Virtualization, and Hosting Platform Service offerings. Lead cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables meet or exceed service-level expectations for quality, timeliness, performance, and budget. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to align goals and resources across multiple project priorities and organizational initiatives. Support and enhance ongoing operations, monitor progress and performance, and help the product team make improvements. Provide regular updates to IT and business executives regarding strategic vision and execution status. Develop and manage high-performing teams of managers, architects, and engineers, focusing on leadership and employee development. Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute fully to organizational objectives. Manage relationships with software and staffing vendors, influence product roadmaps, and negotiate and execute contracts. Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and performance standards, ensuring team accountability to objectives. Create business cases and funding requests for new investments to support business and IT vision and objectives. Oversee third-party managed services to ensure SLAs and KPIs are met. Possess comprehensive knowledge of Cloud platforms, Active Directory, Crypto, Virtualization, Windows, Unix, Database, and Data Centers, with a high-level understanding of other technologies to support staff in complex issues. Apply knowledge of business and industry drivers to maximize performance; interpret business trends and market developments to address business challenges. Influence opinions and decision-making of others to achieve department objectives; build consensus for recommendations. Lead briefings and technical meetings for stakeholders, converting technical information into compelling business context. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business management, engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in IT. Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure Services. Demonstrated ability to deliver IT solutions in a regulated environment, with experience leading large-scale initiatives. Experience working within a managed service provider (MSP) operating model. Extensive experience in people management, leading diverse global teams. Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with IT partners and software vendors. Preferred Qualifications & Competencies: Advanced degree in a technical discipline. Experience working in life science or other regulated industries. Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with executive leadership. Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed, action-oriented environment. Capable of working collaboratively in both in-person and virtual team settings.
