Our client is actively seeking an accomplished and experienced Accounting Manager to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in accounting and finance, with a minimum of five years of professional experience. While a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement. The Accounting Manager will be integral in overseeing financial operations, ensuring precision in financial reporting, and supporting strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and timely distribution of accurate financial statements, ensuring adherence to GAAP and company policies.

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development and management of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions.

• Month-End and Year-End Close: Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliation, preparation of journal entries, and review of financial statements.

• Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by researching legislation, enforcing adherence, and advising management on necessary actions.

• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.

• Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.

• Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax regulations.

• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.

• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, including variance, trend, and profitability analysis, to support business planning and decision-making.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Accounting or an MBA is a plus.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

• Certification: CPA designation preferred.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.

• Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.

• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

• Ethics: High level of integrity and ethical standards in financial management and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the mortgage industry or financial services sector.

• Demonstrated experience in managing financial audits and tax compliance.

• Familiarity with mortgage lending regulations and compliance requirements.
