ManpowerGroup Human Resources Manager in Ankeny, Iowa

Our client, a leading global manufacturer is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join their North American team.

POSITION SUMMARY

Lead the people-based strategies including but not limited to talent acquisition and recruitment, organizational development, retention and engagement, payroll, benefit administration, compliance and building strong relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the process of attracting and hiring new talent. Post job openings, screen applicants, conduct interviews, background checks and make recommendations for hiring decisions.

  • Ensure the implementation of an effective induction process of new employees. Handle paperwork, verify compliance with company procedures, and ensure adherence to state and federal laws.

  • Design and implement a training plan aiming to support people and organizational development / growth.

  • Take care of internal communication and enhance the use of social media to improve employer branding.

  • Consolidate and develop further partnership with Universities by promoting scholarships, interns and collaborations.

  • Review, update and maintain company job descriptions, oversee new candidate searches and coordinate employee performance reviews.

  • Draft HR Policies including updating the employee handbook, organizing employee training and development opportunities and related policies.

  • Manage and prepare payroll as well as assist with benefits administration.

  • Serve as a resource to leaders in handling and resolution of personnel and/or performance issues and advise on best practices.Mediate disputes and address employee grievances

  • Research compensation standards set by industry and governing bodies in order to create salary structures and administer employee benefits. Coordinate and lead the compensation review and communication processes.

  • Monitor employee productivity, recognition, morale, and company culture.

  • Implement and maintain systems for managing time off, including paid vacation time, sick time, holidays and other

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelors degree (B.S or B.A.) in Human Resources or Business Administration or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; at least five years of progressive Human Resources experience; working knowledge of federal and state labor laws, best practices in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent communication skills that can relate to people at all levels of an organization.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.

  • Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to analyze large amounts of data.

  • High level of integrity. Must be honest and ethical with ability to process confidential paperwork and help resolve private concerns.

  • The ability to show empathy to other people on a range of topics is essential.

  • Computer skills including MS Office, including advanced knowledge in Excel and experience with other human resource systems.
