We are looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to join our team!
What are my responsibilities?
Evaluate the system requirements and propose hardware solutions to replace obsolete electronics, focusing on reliability, performance and safety
Define FPGA architectures for complex digital functions
Develop software / firmware to interact with the systems developed
Specify the schematic and layout tips to be implemented by the PCB designer
Select adequate components according market availability and specifications
Review schematic, layout and BOM using Altium Designer
Define test protocol for automated testing
Plan and follow the certification process according to the railway standard EN50155 (Type, Routine and Production Tests):
Temperature
EMI/EMC
Shock and Vibration
Insulation
Write reports and technical documentation
Test and debug the prototypes in the lab
Plan and coordinate tasks with the Project manager, PCB designer, FPGA developer and Test engineer
What do I need to qualify for this job?
Degree in Electronics Engineering
7+ years hardware design experience
Design experience for harsh environments, high temperature, shock and vibration
Digital and Analog electronic design
Embedded Systems design
FPGA design using VHDL or Verilog
Microelectronics
Microprocessors
Power Electronics
LT Spice simulation
Altium Designer (review schematics, layout and BOM)
Programming (assembly, Python, C/C++)
Hardware debug
Automated testing
Fluent English speaker, German knowledge would be a plus
