Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the 97th FSS Windy Trails Golf Course. The position is a flexible position, which means benefits are not available and hours are not guaranteed. Employee could work between 0 and 40 hours per week. Flex employees will be eligible to use certain base facilities such as the fitness center, lodging, pool and bowling center. Responsibilities Performs over-the-counter selling of a variety of merchandise which may include but is not limited to the following: jewelry, footwear, clothing, photographic equipment, sporting goods, electronics, novelty gifts, and other miscellaneous items. Explains use of various products, answers questions concerning various aspects of products, and assists patrons in fitting wearing apparel. Records sales, makes change, and wraps or bags merchandise. Prices merchandise according to pricing guides, replenishes stock as required, and assists with inventories. Performs housekeeping duties in sales and storage areas. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Experience in clerical, office, cash handling or retail sales store work of any kind which demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Experience must demonstrate knowledge of proper cash handling procedures, the ability to resolve common arithmetic problems used when receiving payment from customers, and the ability to operate a cash register. Ability to read, speak, and write English and possess skill in dealing with the public. Must meet minimum age requirement for serving alcohol beverages. Must complete food hander's training. Condition(s) of Employment: Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
