THE POSITION

As a Lead Chemical Process Engineer here at Honeywell, you will use your knowledge of chemical process engineering fundamentals and modeling techniques to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will collaborate with world-renowned engineers to impact developing groundbreaking projects, expanding existing processes, and developing the next generation of Advanced Materials products by designing, testing, and validating products from pilot scale to market. You will report directly to our Senior Chemical Engineering Manager and you’ll work remotely.

In this role, you will impact the optimization of manufacturing processes, ensuring high product quality, and minimizing environmental impact. Your expertise in troubleshooting, implementing advanced technologies, and analyzing data leads to increased efficiency, cost savings, and adherence to regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop process models, heat and material balances, process simulation and tool development for UOP engineering.

  • Identify and mitigate technical and process risks during development stage.

  • Identify and evaluate process/model alternatives during development and identify flowsheet optimization opportunities and good modelling practices.

  • Develop expertise with process chemistry and unit operations to enable modeling of large UOP operating units and integrated complexes.

  • Work with engineering, R&D and technical sales teams to develop and implement models and tools, participate in productivity, optimization and automation projects.

  • Collaborate with the Simulation and tools team in model development for new and mature UOP technologies, extension development, thermodynamic models, and engineering tools development.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8+ years of Process Engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing sector (Refining, Oil & Gas, petrochemicals and renewals).

  • 8+ years of Simulation with UniSim Design, HYSYS and/or AspenPlus.

WE VALUE

  • Preferred degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline

  • Significant experience in process design and engineering projects $10M-$100M

  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering techniques to optimize processes.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to focus on important information and identify key details.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Incentive Eligible

  • Salary Range: $128,000 - $160,000
