Air Separation Technology team (AST) has an opening for a research technician. As a Research Technician, you will primarily support adsorption-based, cryogenic distillation, and heat transfer development efforts to advance Air Separation's competitiveness. This position is based at our Global Headquarters in Allentown, PA and offering hybrid work arrangements.

The Research Technician will work closely with the scientists, engineers, and other research technicians for testing, data workup and analysis, troubleshooting, design, and fabrication of bench-scale to pilot-scale test equipment to improve Air Separation's capabilities.Position Responsibilities

Maintain safe lab operations, while working with large scale equipment, chemicals, cryogenic liquids, specialty equipment and high-pressure gases.

100% participation in safety activities such as leading and participating in design hazard reviews and investigating process and equipment failures.

Perform routine experiments including breakthrough testing, isotherm measurements, distillation testing, heat transfer, thermogravimetric analysis, and others.

Data collection, workup, and analysis in close collaboration with supporting scientists and engineers in multidisciplinary teams

Design, modification, operation, and troubleshooting of test equipment

Handle and change-out gas and chemical containers

Manage team's gas and chemical inventoryQualifications and Experience

High school diploma required. Associate's degree or higher in a technical field such as engineering technology, physics, chemistry, or a similar discipline preferred

3-5 years experience working in a laboratory environment preferred

Mechanical aptitude and hands on experience in design and construction of test equipment preferred

Experience with analytical techniques a plus.

Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects

Strong verbal and written communication skills
