Your Role

As our Distribution Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the distribution process in our Allentown PA Distribution Center, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers or other locations. You will oversee a team of staff involved in inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and logistics to ensure smooth operations and maximum efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety: Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

``` - Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize distribution operations, including inventory management, warehouse layout, transportation routes, and delivery schedules. - Team Management: Lead and manage a team of distribution staff, including supervisors, warehouse team members, and logistics coordinators. Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high productivity and morale. - Inventory Control: Implement inventory control procedures to accurately track stock levels, minimize shrinkage, and prevent overstocking or stockouts. Coordinate with supply chain planning and procurement teams to ensure adequate stock levels. - Warehouse Management: Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and order fulfillment. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, and optimize layout and workflow to maximize efficiency. - Transportation Management: Coordinate transportation activities, including route planning, carrier selection, and freight requirements. Monitor transportation costs and performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements. - Quality Assurance: Implement quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and integrity of outbound shipments. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies. - Customer Service: Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to meet customer delivery requirements and address any delivery-related issues or concerns. Strive to exceed customer expectations through timely and reliable service. - Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the distribution network. Implement best practices, technology solutions, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in distribution operations management, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and other relevant software tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in safety, quality, and compliance within the distribution industry.
