Western lehigh Landscaping Mason/Laborer in Allentown, Pennsylvania
As the Mason/Laborer, you will work under the direction of the Foreman building structures with brick, stone, block, cement and other common and durable materials for hardscaping and landscaping projects. This position is also responsible for performing a variety of work tasks (general physical labor) assisting with the completion of landscape construction projects and snow removal.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to work outdoors in all conditions.
- Knowledge of building materials, masonry methods, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to use problem-solving skills to overcome challenges.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED
- Completion of a masonry program preferred.
- 2 years' experience working with stone.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Landscape:
Assist crew with the following tasks:
Conduct masonry projects under the direction of the Foreman.
Take measurements, calculate amount of material needed, read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches understanding the project specifications.
Cut, shape, and dressing materials.
Mixing cement and mortar.
Plant and maintain garden beds and lawns.
Load, unload and transport materials, tools, and equipment.
Maintain cleanliness of job sites, vehicles, and equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Snow:
Assist crew with the following tasks:
Analyze and improve organizational processes, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
Install Satellite Salt Bins.
Ensure Equipment expansion is done and complete for season.
Ensure all properties are marked prior to the first storm of the season.
Ensure all equipment is serviced and ready for operation.
Ensure all equipment is in the proper location for storm operations.
Perform snow and ice removal and management services to territory assigned.
Ensure trucks and equipment are properly cleaned and serviced and ready for the next storm.
Ensure all plow markers are cleaned up and returned to WLSM.
Ensure all equipment is cleaned up and returned to its proper storage area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
