The Lehigh County Office of Children and Youth Services (OCYS) has a mission to protect children from abuse and neglect and strengthen families. Lehigh County currently has an open Clerical Supervisor 2 position. Come join our team and help us accomplish our goals by providing vital services to the residents of Lehigh County. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Within this role, you will supervise daily operations of agency clerical staff, including a Clerk Typist 3 who acts as a lead worker in the clerical unit and a Clerk Typist 3 who processes CPS ChildLine Reports. You will have the opportunity to monitor and approve timesheets, monitor main phone line operations, approve vacation requests, maintain electronic vacation log, and create weekly/bi-weekly Agency time sheets.

Work includes: assuring completeness of clerical team assignments, meeting with Casework Supervisors for assessment/feedback on a regular basis, completing probationary and annual performance evaluations, meeting with clerical staff on an as need basis to review workload and team functioning, and facilitating monthly clerical unit meetings. The Incumbent in this role will: Assign/monitor other miscellaneous clerical assignments. Organize materials and set up formats and layouts of documents to be internally processed or passed on to another work area. Prepare and explain instructions on processing methods and procedures to clerical staff and demonstrate operation of office machines. Answer written inquiries relating to the status and operation of the section supervised. Oversee OCYS section of Department of Human Services' High Density File Room including implementing systems for case record management, detailing issues related to case tracking and archiving. Coordinate requests for other county office services  - point of contact for agency staff. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Clerical Supervisor 1; or Two years of complex clerical work experience; or Three years of moderately complex clerical work experience that included six months of clerical lead worker experience; or Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
