We are currently looking for a contract resource to fill a Cost & Inventory Manager role based in Allen, Texas, 75002. The individual in this role will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of inventory accounting in a leading supplements company. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy of our inventory records and supporting our financial goals. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. 100% ONSITE in north Dallas (near McKinney 75002).

Inventory Accountant/Manager (contract position):

Responsibilities:

• Utilize the current cycle count program and review and update as necessary for proper warehouse procedures.

• Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Monitor inventory transactions and conduct regular audits to verify physical inventory against accounting records.

• Assist in the development and implementation of inventory management policies and procedures.

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to inventory.

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

• Analyze inventory variances and provide detailed reports on discrepancies, recommending corrective actions as necessary.

• Collaborate with the procurement and production teams to ensure accurate inventory costing and valuation.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reports for management review.

• Provide support during internal and external audits.

• Use MS Great Plains Accounting for various tasks and annual inventory management.

• Perform inventory analysis and reconciliation using inventory tracking systems.

• Conduct cycle counts and document policies and procedures related to inventory management.

Requirements • Proven experience as a Cost & Inventory Manager for at least 5 years

• Proficient knowledge of MS Great Plains Accounting software

• Demonstrable experience with annual inventory processes

• Strong skills in inventory analysis and reconciliation

• Experience with inventory tracking and warehouse inventory management

• Ability to perform cycle count and manage cycle count processes

• Familiarity with relevant policies and procedures related to inventory management

• Excellent documentation skills

• Experience in managing and implementing inventory tracking systems

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• A bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field is preferred.
