Take instruction from steel foreman to maintain schedule, quality, and progress within the specifications of each job. TYPICAL DUTIES: Follow OSHA safety guidelines Read and understand blueprints and project layout Measure and cut metal parts to exact specifications Install or fabricate metal pieces into columns, girders, or other structural frameworks Repair or replace existing steel parts of buildings and other structures Basic crane rigging Operation of scissor lift, boomlift, and other machinery to move metal pieces into place Clean and maintain all tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good condition Follow all industry and governmental regulations on safety protocols SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints Ability to communicate effectively Ability to lift 80 pounds Welding Certification preferred but not required Rigger/ Signalperson Certification preferred but not required Have a positive work attitude Aptitude in math Problem-solving abilities Punctual and On-Time Good physical condition Valid driver s license COMMENTS: This job description is not intended to represent a complete, comprehensive list of all duties and responsibilities that may be required in this position.
